Across the border, the night was covered in blood. The convoy was moving towards Pakistan. Suddenly there was an attack, screams were raised and the convoy was scattered. An old mother pushed her son and said:
"You run! Leave me.”
The son cried and said:
"Mom! How without you?"
The mother tied a green cloth over his chest with her hands:
"Son! Leave me, save this flag, this is the mark of generations."
He reached Pakistan in the morning but could not find his mother. Even after years he used to wave the flag every 14th of August because it was not a cloth but a prayer of his mother.
