Jawad stood on a green hill, looking at Gul with anger.
"What has this country given us?" he snapped. "Abroad, people looked down on us, and back home, we are struggling just to survive!"
Gul smiled gently and replied,
"Don't be silly! This land gave us our identity in the world, and I am proud of it."
"If I get another chance, I'll leave again," Jawad said bitterly, turning to walk toward the village.
Suddenly, the roaring thunder of fighter jets echoed through the sky. Jawad stopped in fear and turned back to look at Gul.
Gul said warmly,
"My friend, we are strong. Soon, hands will emerge to make everything right."
