Two Shots

Gami and Shazi were standing in the outer doorway of the drawing-room, holding modern revolvers in their hands. There were devilish smiles on their faces.

"Oh... look... you... you Gami and Shazi..." The words got stuck in Mahmood's throat.

"Wh... wh... what happened... got scared... Farooq!" Gami laughed.

"Nothing like that... I am scared a lot... rather, I am continuously getting scared... look at this... now I have actually started shivering too," Farooq said. He was indeed shivering.

"So the root cause of all the trouble is you... and you were playing games with us from the beginning... rather, you were making fools of us...!" Farooq said angrily.

"You are very smart, Farana..." Gami laughed.

"And that heartbreaking story of yours...!"

"That was a lie..."

"Meaning you have been acting and continuously telling lies."

"Yes! There is no one bigger and more of a liar than me in this world." He smiled.

"Oh... then you deserve a prize..." Farooq said happily.

"What prize does he deserve...? And you still want to give him something? Crazy man." Farana turned towards Farooq in anger.

"Don't worry, Farana... I am not a spendthrift... I am not going to give him anything valuable..."

"Then what are you going to give...?" she asked irritably.

"Con-gratulations..." She was startled.

"Brother! There is no bigger liar in the world than him, congratulations are definitely in order for this... I want to give that, after all, he has been with us for so long." Farooq went on saying, and Farana made a face and stayed quiet.

"Th... th... thank you very much, Farooq."

"Now what is this thanks for...?" Mahmood asked, annoyed.

"I am thanking you for the congratulations, Mahmood..." He laughed. Then he glared at Khurram:

"Khurram! I used to think of you as a brave man, but you turned out to be a dud... you gave up immediately." Gami's voice was somewhat changed.

"Oh... oh...! You..." Khurram jumped hard.

"All of you were going to get me killed, Khurram... that is why I was forced to come out into the open," Gami said irritably.

"That... that sir... Pervez Akhtar...!!" Khurram stammered.

"To hell with him and everyone..."

"Meaning! You are behind all this game?" Inspector Junaid smiled.

"Yes! Everything was happening at my signal."

"And that fat boss...?" Ikram asked.

"He is my oblivious man..." He laughed.

"Oblivious... what do you mean!" They were startled.

"He was only told that the real game is something else, what it is... was not told... the people who clashed with you were all my puppets."

"Oh... and that Pervez Akhtar..."

"A wealthy but greedy man, devoid of intellect... he immediately agreed to support me for a few hundred thousand... Inspector Junaid! There is great power in money, and with this power, I have bought many noble people too... I have put a price on their faith and patriotism... I stayed with you, but my mission kept moving forward..." Gami was saying.

"Oh... oh... you were this deep... we couldn't even know... alas!" Mahmood said.

"This is the specialty of Gami and Shazi... no one can even reach their level of thinking."

"But Pervez Akhtar and the rest of the people have fallen into police custody. Dead bodies speak in front of them, they will tell everything about you."

"Hahahahaha... they won't be able to tell anything... I never even went in front of them, they just kept hearing my voice sometimes..." Gami laughed.

"And Inspector Junaid! We only want this now... all our people should get caught..."

"Oh... you have done some solid work..." Ikram smiled.

"Yes! But why did you start my interview? You don't want to publish it in a newspaper somewhere, do you...?" Gami laughed.

"Oh, no... if you feel bad, we won't do the interview," Farooq said quickly.

"Now what is left behind... two or three questions... quickly do those too... because after this, all of you have to go to Allah."

"Wh... wh... what do you mean... do you intend to kill us?" Farooq got nervous.

"Yes! Such is my program... and I am sure, all of you will cooperate with me," Gami said with a laugh.

"Cooperate... what kind of cooperation...!!" Khan Rahman asked in shock.

"That you will hand over your lives to me."

"This will not happen at all, whose given lives these are, we will hand them over to Him only... and we will do it gladly," Mahmood said.

"Gami! Tell me this, what is the secret of the five doors of the hall... I am sure, there are secret paths or paths there... or some basement..." Inspector Junaid was saying when Gami started smiling.

"What happened... did I say something wrong...?"

"N... n... no... you said it right, Inspector Junaid... there are secret paths there as well as a basement... there is a huge basement beneath all five streets," he smiled.

"So did the fat boss know everything about them?"

"No, he only knew about one path which used to come into the hall passing through the room present in street number five... these paths come up to the hall from above... the basement is way down below..." Gami was saying.

"And what is in this basement... would you like to tell?" Farana said.

"It contains weapons made by the neighboring country and..." He stopped while speaking.

"And what... tell quickly... why are you creating suspense?" Farooq made a face.

"There are two suicide bombers there... fully prepared to attack, they are just waiting for Khurram's signal... it is a matter of an SMS or a call going from his mobile... and..." He fell silent once again.

"Oh... oh father... you are talking about very dangerous things...!!" Farooq got scared.

"And you are trying to scare us immensely," Mahmood said.

Inspector Junaid was listening to them silently... Khurram was staring at Gami and Shazi with wide eyes...

"Father! His intentions are very terrifying... with great difficulty the suicide bombers were stopped earlier... he brought them again... after all, how do people get ready to give their lives?" Farana said.

"Well, some eccentric people are still in the world who get fooled... besides poverty and unemployment, there are some other factors because of which young boys get ready to give their lives," Inspector Junaid went on saying.

"You said it right, Inspector Junaid... I have spent millions of rupees on these two bombers and facilitators," Gami said.

"But why did you spend... the question is that?"

"I will get crores of rupees and..." He fell silent and began to smile.

"Oh... and what...!!" Farana asked.

"You are wasting my time..." He was startled.

"Oh no... nothing like that... the last wishes of dying people are respected... you are doing just that..." Mahmood said, and Gami laughed loudly.

"Laugh softly... what will Khurram's family say?" Farooq made a face.

"N... no matter... they won't hear the sounds," Khurram said, flustered.

"Wh... why won't they hear..." Farooq said in his style, and everyone laughed.

"Because they are not present in the house at this time; only the younger brother is there, and he is sitting in a room far away watching a match," Khurram said.

"Yes, so I was saying... as soon as Khurram's signal is received, both bombers along with their facilitators will come out of the basements and attack two different locations," Gami said.

"Oh... at which locations...?" Farana asked quickly.

"Tomorrow morning two conferences are taking place in the city... in one, the country's renowned intellectuals, writers, and poets are participating... and in the other, educationists from all over the country... meaning the best brains of the country are gathering in this city. Now think, if a suicide attack takes place at both locations at the same time, what will be the condition of the city...? Won't it be like doomsday.. hundreds of people will die.. there will be blood everywhere and my..." He fell silent once again.

"Why do you stop again and again...? Say everything in one sitting," Mahmood said annoyedly.

"And there will be peace and peace within me..."

"Oh... you are a very cruel man... I am feeling sorry... I ate food together with you," Farooq spat out in disgust.

"Oh... oh... how dangerous your plan is."

"Yes... it is... the matter started with Farana's abduction and where have I brought it... right..." Gami said.

"Gami! You are forgetting one thing..." Ikram said with a smile.

"The building of the boss has been surrounded by the police from all sides... it is spread inside it too. How will your suicide bombers get out...?"

"Don't you worry, Ikram... they will not only get out but also successfully accomplish their mission."

"But how...?"

"From the basement, two paths passing beneath the adjoining mansions go into empty plots... there is a boundary wall around these plots... let me tell you something fun... those mansions have been built and sold by me only," Gami said.

"Come on! Now get ready to die... enough talking, but wait... let me take his mobile from Khurram. Bring it brother! Give this mobile to me now. The signal work will now be done by my own hands... you have given up," Gami said with a laugh. He looked very satisfied.

"And if he doesn't give you this mobile...?" Inspector Junaid smiled.

"Why won't he give? Khurram! Hand over the mobile to me..." Gami was startled.

"Khurram! Didn't you hear, hand over your mobile to Gami... hurry up," Shazi shouted.

Khurram was standing motionless. Sometimes he would look at Gami and sometimes at Inspector Junaid.

"Khurram! Give me the mobile... and don't care about them... they are about to die now, they can't do any harm to you..." Gami said anxiously.

Suddenly Inspector Junaid started smiling.

"What happened to you... why did you start smiling?" Shazi made a face.

"Inspector Junaid has started smiling seeing death in front of him. Well, wow! He is a man of great courage." Gami laughed.

"The man of courage is me, but this smile of mine is due to some other reason."

"Due to another reason...!!"

"How crazy you are... the game to know which we would have had to struggle a lot for, you told everything with your own mouth..." Their smile deepened.

"I told everything because no one can save you from my hands."

"You are saying it wrong... there is someone who will save us," they smiled.

"Who is that...?" Gami and Shazi were startled hard.

"Allah... life and death are only in His hands..."

"Oh..." escaped from Shazi's mouth.

"Khurram! Didn't you hear, hand over your mobile to me," Gami shouted.

"I won't give it..." Khurram said suddenly, and opening the inner door of the drawing-room, ran inside.

"Oh... hey... catch him..." Gami shouted, and forgetting them, Shazi rushed swiftly after him but fell flat on the floor. Farooq had put his leg out in front of him. Before he could recover... he picked up the revolver fallen on the floor.

"Oh... oh... Khurram! I won't spare you... you cannot ruin my game," Gami shouted.

"It has already been ruined..." Inspector Junaid smiled.

"I will kill everyone..."

"Then why don't you kill... Khurram is not here now... Shazi has fallen on the floor... blood was coming out of his nose due to falling face down..." Inspector Junaid was saying when Shazi jumped up and stood.

"Gami! Human beings who show arrogance never find peace... a stiff neck often gets one humiliated... you consider yourself very wise and cunning, but look... how helpless you are at this time... Khurram has given you the slip at the very last moment..."

"The signal has to be given tomorrow morning only, till then I will get the mobile from him... it is better if you keep your lecture to yourself," Gami said angrily.

"Okay... kept it to myself," they smiled.

"Shazi! Take your revolver from Farooq and go inside and snatch the mobile from Khurram... and yes! While coming back, shoot a bullet in his temple too... there is no place for a traitor with me." Gami's face was turning red with extreme anger.

"You mean... I should give Shazi the revolver..." Farooq was saying when he jumped and fell. Shazi had punched him in the chest with supreme agility. Inspector Junaid wanted to help him, but by that time Shazi had taken the revolver into his possession.

"Inspector Junaid! I have worked very hard on this project and..." Gami was saying when Inspector Junaid smiled and said:

"And taken a lot of money from the neighboring country... so much that no one can even think."

"Wh... what do you mean..." Gami was left astonished.

"The meaning is clear, you are working on someone's signal and I know who wants to harm our country..."

"Hahahahaha... hahahahaha... you are very sharp, but now this sharpness will not be of any use to you," Gami laughed loudly.

"You people move to one side..." Shazi growled.

"And if we don't...?" Farooq made a face.

"Then a blind bullet will enter your brains one after the other... hurry up..."

Everyone moved to one side. Now no one was in front of the inner door. Seeing this, Gami said:

"Shazi! If these people try to make even the slightest move, riddle them with bullets, no leniency will be shown to them now. I'll go deal with Khurram."

Saying this, he quickly moved towards the inner door of the drawing-room, but at that very moment, Khurram came inside, scared and panicked. His face was drenched in sweat.

"Wh... what do you mean!! Brother Khurram, why did you come here?" Mahmood looked at him nervously.

"Th... th... inside I thought a lot..." He stammered.

"Wh... what did you think... and did you go inside just to think...? We thought..." Farooq went on saying.

Everyone was astonished.

"I thought, what should I do... should I support Inspector Junaid sahib or the ones because of whom despair was removed from my life... and I became rich."

"Then what did you think...?" Farana asked quickly.

"I have thought, I will support my benefactors," Khurram said. He was smiling.

"What...!!!" They screamed.

"Yes! I will not prove to be ungrateful... you will be able to get me a job with a salary of at most a few thousand rupees while by supporting them I will always play in millions..."

"Oh... and what you were saying just a little while ago... that..."

"Those were just emotional things," Khurram said, and stepping forward, handed his mobile into Gami's hand. He caught the mobile. Then he took a look at it and said:

"You are truly intelligent and wise, Khurram... I assure you, you will always play in money." Gami was laughing.

"Now what will we do with them?" Khurram pointed towards Inspector Junaid.

"Their death is certain. If they remain alive, my real game will remain incomplete and I will never let that happen, I have worked very hard on it," Gami said with a laugh.

"Your game will remain incomplete only, Insha'Allah..." Farooq said quickly, so Gami glared at him badly. Farooq quickly pressed his lips together.

"But firing will gather the neighborhood people... it will become very difficult," Khurram said worriedly.

"Neighborhood people will not gather," Shazi smiled.

"Because everyone is deaf..." Farooq made an ugly face.

"You keep quiet... dying people don't chatter... understood!!" Gami looked at Farooq angrily.

"What do dying people do... please be kind enough to tell this."

"Why should I tell... I am not your teacher... nor are you sitting in a school... and yes listen! Nothing is going to happen now with your talking... all of you will die... rather many people will die... hahahahaha... hahahahaha..." Gami started laughing.

"Everything happens by Allah's will... if it is not His will, not a hair of anyone, let alone us, will be harmed..." Farooq said with a smile.

"Boss! Will you give me one permission?" Suddenly Khurram started smiling.

"Which permission...?" He was startled.

"If you say, should I send them to the realm of death?"

"Oh no... I will do this work with my own hands..." Gami said, and winking at Shazi, began to increase pressure on the trigger of the revolver. Shazi had also aimed his revolver. Khurram quickly pressed against the wall.

Mahmood, Farana, and Farooq quickly looked towards Inspector Junaid. There was peace and peace on their faces. They said:

"Death is true, if it is written here no one can save us and if our lives remain, Allah Ta'ala will cleanly save us... you try to save yourselves from bullets and try well..."

As soon as they fell silent, two shots were fired and Mahmood and Farooq jumped and fell..

"Father! Mahmood, Farooq..." Farana screamed.

At that very moment, two more shots were fired... and silencer-fitted revolvers slipped from the hands of Gami and Shazi... blood gushed out like fountains from their hands... they turned swiftly... at that exact moment, Inspector Junaid and Ikram flew like eagles, collided with Gami and Shazi, and fell to the ground taking them along... then they pinned both of them under their boots. In no time, Gami and Shazi were half-dead.

"Look here Gami and Shazi! Your game died an unnatural death anyway. What will you do now?" Inspector Junaid said with a smile.

It was as if the very mother of Gami and Shazi had died. They were looking at them helplessly.

"Sir! They will mourn the death of their real game and what else can they do." Ikram said, looking towards Inspector Junaid.

"And what... they had come to play two games each..." Khan Rahman made a face.

"Sorry sir! We got a little late..." The number one of the secret force said.

"B... b... but those Mahmood and Farooq..."

"Don't worry... they are fine," Inspector Junaid said and turned back. Mahmood and Farooq were sitting and smiling. They had saved themselves from the bullets with great skill.

"Didn't I say that your game will remain incomplete, look! Not only did it remain incomplete, but it was killed an unnatural death," Farooq went on saying.

"Sir! Take this SIM..." Khurram took out a SIM from his pocket and placed it on Inspector Junaid's hand.

"This... what is this?" Farana asked in astonishment.

"The signal SIM, this is the real SIM. After going inside, I had put the other SIM in the mobile... whatever I did in the past, so be it... no more... I want to live for the construction of the nation now... may Allah the Creator forgive me," Khurram said. They saw. Tears suddenly descended into his eyes.

"Oh...!!!" escaped from Farana's mouth.

"Thank you very much! Now you go... we will handle the rest," Inspector Junaid said to the people of the secret force.

"Yes sir..." They said and left.

"Ikram! Put Gami and Shazi in the car, we still have a lot of work to do. Hurry up..."

"Okay sir..." Ikram said.

"And you will have to stay with us. What treatment to do with you, that will be decided after the final arrest..." Inspector Junaid said to Khurram.

"All right sir... I am with you." Khurram smiled.

Before morning, everyone was arrested from the secret basements present in the fat boss's hideout. When they became free, Mahmood, Farooq, and Farana surrounded Professor Dawood:

"Professor uncle! The gifts given by you turned out to be duds..."

"Wh... what do you mean...?" He was startled.

"Meaning that... all three mobile watches went out of order together... is there any logic..." Farooq made an ugly face.

"Oh....!!" escaped from Professor Dawood's mouth.

"Take this... and fix their features and lines..." Farooq said.

"Features and lines..." He got nervous.

"What happened... why did you get nervous...!!" Mahmood said quickly.

"That... that watches don't have features and lines..." He stammered.

"If they don't, so what... you first put features and lines in them then fix them... they shouldn't stop in the future... I have said it yes... God's wrath, they gave up at the very nick of time." Farooq went on saying.

"You are crazy... this has been proved today," Farana smiled.

"Thanks for the compliment, my good sister..." Farooq said, putting his hand on his chest and bowing his head in such a manner that everyone started smiling.
