Ami opened the door of the fridge and saw that all the laddoos were missing. She kept looking at the empty box in surprise. Yesterday, aunt Jan brought her hand-made besan laddoos for the children. Ami put the box in the fridge, but when she opened the fridge in the morning, she got worried when she saw the empty box.
He gave voice to both children. The two came running into the kitchen. Amy showed them the empty box and asked:
"Who has eaten these laddoos?"
Nasir immediately said: "Oh dear! I have not eaten."
Iqbal also gave the same answer while shaking his head.
Father John was preparing to go to office. He heard this and said:
"I am running late for office. Whoever has eaten the laddoos, tell your mother the truth or I will get angry." Both children quietly went to their room. Ami started cleaning the house but the worry was clearly visible on her face. He was sad that if any child has eaten the laddoos, he should tell the truth because before today no one had ever taken anything without permission.
Ami got busy preparing breakfast. Iqbal kept looking at Nasir. His face looked like he was hiding something. In the afternoon, Iqbal's eyes fell on a corner of the yard where a long line of ants was going. He followed them curiously. After going a few steps further, he saw particles of laddu. When Iqbal became suspicious, he called Nasir.
"Nasser! Just come here."
As soon as Nasir saw the particles of laddoos, his color faded and his eyes narrowed in shame. Iqbal gently asked: "Nasser! Tell me the truth, how did these lidos come here?"
Tears came to Nasir's eyes. He cried: "Bhiya! I ate all the laddoos in the night. I'm sorry. I thought mom wouldn't let me eat more laddoos, so I ate all the laddoos and then put the empty container back in the fridge." Both brothers went to Ami. Nasir told the whole thing while crying. Ami first listened to him quietly, then made him sit next to her and said lovingly:
"Son! If you had taken my permission, I would not have been angry at all. I am saddened that you took Lido without my permission and then lied. A child who speaks the truth is trusted and respected by all."
Nasir bowed his head in shame and promised never again to touch anything without permission or tell a lie. Amy forgives him and explains that whether a theft is small or big, hiding it only increases the problem, while telling the truth eases the heart and keeps the trust of others.
When Aba Jan came home in the evening, Iqbal told him everything. Aba Jan explained to Nasir and said:
"Son! Stealing is bad. A good person is one who obeys parents, tells the truth and cares for others."
After this incident, a rule was made in the house that the child who does good deeds and always speaks the truth will be rewarded. A few days later, when Aunt Jan came again, she again made besan laddoos and brought them. This time Nasir asked Ami in front of everyone:
"Can I have a lado?"
Amy smiled and said:
"Yes, son! Take it."
Aunt Jan hugged both the brothers and said:
"Both of my nephews are very intelligent. I am sure that one day these two will make a name for their parents."
