In a village, there lived a young boy named Ali. He was very bright and hardworking. However, he did not like sharing his things with anyone at all. If he had a toy, he would not even let a single friend touch it.

One day, while returning home from school, Ali saw an elderly man on the road. The old man was carrying a heavy basket of vegetables. Suddenly, one edge of the basket broke, and all the vegetables scattered across the road.

Seeing this, Ali stopped. At first, he thought that he was getting late for home, but then his mother’s words came to mind:

"Son! Helping someone in need is an act of virtue."

Ali put his school bag aside and began picking up the vegetables scattered on the road. In just a short while, he gathered all the vegetables back into the basket.

The old man smiled and said:

"May Allah keep you happy, son; you have helped me immensely today."

Ali replied:

"There is no need for thanks. You needed help, so I helped."

The next day at school, the teacher announced that a new student had joined the class. His name was Hamza. He sat quietly and did not speak to anyone.

Ali noticed that Hamza did not have a box of coloring crayons, while the teacher had instructed all the students to draw pictures. Ali took out his own box of colors and offered it to Hamza.

"You can use my colors."

A bright smile spread across Hamza’s face. He said:

"Thank you, Ali! Today, you are my very first friend."

For the first time, Ali realized that sharing your belongings with others does not lessen what you have; rather, it multiplies the joy.

A few days later, Ali fell ill and could not attend school for several days. When he returned, he discovered that Hamza had carefully copied down all the missed schoolwork from his notebook for him.

Hamza said:

"You helped me, so I helped you too." Ali smiled.

He truly understood that a good deed is never wasted. When a person eases difficulties for others, that ease inevitably returns to their own life in one form or another.

From that day on, Ali resolved in his heart that he would always help others and share his joys with those around him.
