Mithu was a little parrot who lived in a cozy nest inside a big Peepal tree in the middle of a dense, green jungle. He lived with his mother, Toti, and his father, Tota. His parents were very kind, gentle, and well-loved by all the animals in the forest. But Mithu was quite the opposite. He was extremely naughty and rude, and he found it fun to tease others.

One evening, as the sun began to set, a monkey was walking near their tree. Mithu felt a bit mischievous. He picked up a ripe plum with his beak and threw it straight at the monkey.

*"Thud!"* The plum hit the monkey right on the head.

The monkey was startled and looked up, rubbing his sore head in pain. High up in the tree, Mithu was flapping his wings and laughing, thinking, "I am the most beautiful parrot in this forest! My parents are loved by everyone, so no one can ever hurt me!"

The monkey was furious. He shouted up at the tree, "You are a very rude parrot! Is it fun to hurt others? Come down here, and I will teach you a lesson!"

Just then, Mithu’s mother, Toti, came out of the nest. Seeing the angry monkey, she asked kindly, "What happened, dear monkey? Is everything alright?"

The monkey pointed to his head and said, "Toti, please talk to your son! He just hit me on the head with a plum. He is becoming very naughty!"

Toti turned to Mithu with a stern look. Mithu, feeling scared, stepped back. Toti said, "Mithu, I have told you many times not to hurt the animals and birds. It makes God unhappy, but you never listen!"

Seeing his mother so serious, Mithu hurried back into the nest. Toti apologized to the monkey, and he went on his way, still grumbling.

The next morning, all the animals—including the Lion King, the eagle, and many others—gathered at the jungle pond. The monkey told everyone, "The parrot living in the big tree has a son named Mithu who is very rude. He hit me on the head yesterday for no reason. If we don't stop him, he will hurt someone else tomorrow!"

All the animals agreed that they needed to do something. They decided to go to the tree and speak firmly to Mithu’s parents. When the animals arrived, Tota and Toti came out, looking very worried to see so many angry animals.

The Lion stepped forward and roared, "Mian Tota, we have come here out of respect for your kindness, but your son’s behavior has gone too far. We are giving you a final warning: if he hurts any animal again, we will not be quiet about it. We will not let him disturb the peace of our jungle."

Tota and Toti bowed their heads in shame. Tota folded his wings and said, "I am so sorry, everyone. It is our fault for spoiling him. We promise that from today, we will teach him better manners, and this will never happen again."

The animals gave them one chance and left. After they were gone, Tota and Toti called Mithu. Toti asked, "Don't you know how wrong it is to be proud or to hurt others?"

Then, his father, Tota, said in a stern voice, "If you do not stop your mischief, we will have to leave you alone in the jungle. We cannot stay with a rude parrot."

Mithu had never heard his father speak so firmly. He began to tremble. For the first time, he realized how much shame his behavior had brought to his parents. He saw how angry the jungle animals were, and he felt truly sorry. Tears filled his eyes, and he cried, "Please forgive me, Mom and Dad! I realize now that hurting others is wrong and that my bad habits only bring shame to our family."

"Well done, my son! I am so happy you understand your mistake," Toti said lovingly. Little Mithu hugged them both, and his father chirped with happiness. From that day on, Mithu changed. He stopped teasing others and started helping the smaller animals. Everyone was happy, and the jungle was once again filled with peace and laughter.
