"Hiba Api! Come quickly, we are all ready," Bilal said, knocking on her door.
"I am ready too," Hiba replied, hanging her small bag around her neck.
Hiba and Bilal lived with their mother and father in a beautiful mountainous area. Near their home was a valley where they often went for walks. Today, too, they intended to go there, but at Bilal's request, they planned to go to a hill on the other side of the valley. The hill was covered with green bushes. Hiba and Bilal seemed very happy. Their father forbade them from climbing the hill. Therefore, both started playing in a cave formed at the foot of the hill.
"Hiba! Look here, what is this?" Bilal said, pointing to a rock. Hiba ran quickly in that direction. She saw two tiny partridge chicks crying. The partridge and its female were nowhere to be seen.
"Bilal! I think they are thirsty," Hiba said, thinking for a moment.
"Yes... I think so too," Bilal agreed with her.
"Bilal! You stay here; I'll get water from the cooler," saying this, Hiba ran in the direction where her parents were sitting.
"Hiba, daughter! Bring your brother too, so we can eat together," her mother said, laying the tablecloth.
"Mother dear! We'll be back shortly," saying this, Hiba took a glass of water and went back to Bilal in the cave. He was holding both chicks in his hands. They were chirping loudly. Hiba dipped their beaks one by one in the water, their sobs stopped, and they became quiet and looked towards them.
Bilal put the chicks back in their place, and they returned home with their mother and father. After a few days, Hiba and Bilal insisted on going to the same hill, so their parents brought them along. Both ran towards the same cave in search of the partridge chicks. The place was empty, Hiba and Bilal stepped out with disappointment when suddenly a stone fell on Bilal's foot. He sat down there with pain. Blood started coming out from his nail. Seeing this, Hiba was anxiously looking around for something to put on the wound when four partridges came making noise. They had some herb in their mouth. They placed it on Hiba's hands. One of the large partridges put a branch of the herb on Bilal's foot. Seeing this, Hiba understood everything; she crushed the herb and placed it on Bilal's wound, so not only did the blood stop, but the intensity of the pain also decreased. Hiba and Bilal looked at them with smiling eyes because they recognized that these were the same partridges they had helped. The small partridges started making sounds with joy, as if saying that 'today we have succeeded in repaying your favor.'
